Cookies

A cookie is a small file of letters and numbers that we store on your device (e.g. computer, mobile or tablet). Our website uses cookies to distinguish you from other users of the site. This helps us to provide you with a better experience when you browse the site and also allows us to improve the website. Cookies also help us to keep you safe by detecting and preventing fraud and other security threats.

We use the following types of cookies:

Strictly necessary cookies: these are essential cookies that are required for the operation of the site. They include, for example, cookies that enable you to log in to secure areas of the site (if applicable). These cookies cannot be disabled.

Analytical/performance cookies: these allow us to recognise and count the number of visitors and to see how visitors move around the site when they are using it. This helps us to improve the way the site works, for example, by ensuring that users are finding what they are looking for easily.

Functionality cookies: these recognise you when you return to the site. This enables us to personalise content for you and remember your preferences (for example, your choice of language or region).

Targeting cookies: these record your visit to the site, the pages you have visited and the links you have followed. We will use this information to make the site and the advertising displayed on it more relevant to your interests. We may also share this information with third parties for this purpose.

You can find more information about the individual cookies we use and the purposes for which we use them in the table below.

Cookies in emails

We do not make use of cookies in general to monitor how individuals interact with emails they’ve received. The exception to this is requesting Read and Delivery reports on sent emails but this is dependent on the receiving server being able to accept and respond to Exchange requests. We do not track how users interact with emails once they’ve been delivered or read.

If we are sharing personal information or sensitive information, we send such emails via a secure platform so that they can be sent encrypted and only viewed by the recipient via a personal login. We have the ability to revoke access to such emails via the secure platform. However, no modification is made on content downloaded to the user’s local workstation.
